Is There Money in a Travel Business in this Economy?

I certainly didn’t think so.  I have had my chances to join World Ventures, Traverus and more, but declined because I do not travel much myself and didn’t think people would be willing to travel when money is tight.

But (you knew there was one of those coming, didn’t you?) when I took a look at this company, I decided to join.  Why?  First of all, my husband and I have a big anniversary coming up this year, so I thought it would be fun to travel for a change.  And second, there is no monthly cost, just the initial cost for your trip, which is minimal.

Now that I have joined, I can also tell you that my business partner has been in this business for 5-6 weeks and has already made nearly $10,000.

So, I ask you, what is there to lose?

You can vacation anywhere in the world and only pay $275 plus taxes on the accommodations and up to 1/2 the travel expenses.  Then by meeting just a few qualifications, you can easily make $250  plus get another $250 travel voucher… and, well, rather than try to explain it, let me suggest that you visit my website (with Spanish subtitles):  Travel Portal Express

Fill out the form on that website if you are interested and I”ll get back to you right away.

Did You Know?

Did you know that the top income earners of ALL TIME in the MLM profession were in Excel Telecommunications?

Did you also know that LightYear Wireless has a compensation plan that is based on the Excel plan, only it pays much higher?

And did you also know that Excel was in telephone communications industry and LightYear Wireless is in telephone communications industry?

Where do you think the next top income earners will come from?

Timing is Critical

Everyone who knows MLM knows that timing is everything.  Timing to introduce the product.  Timing for a promotion.  Timing before momentum.  But the timing I want to talk about today is the timing for the Network Marketer.

Each person has their own timetable that has to be considered when they join an MLM.

Take me for example.  I joined my first MLM way back in my early 20s.  It was Amway.  I’m sure most of you have heard of them.  At the time it was a fairly new company and MLM was a fairly new concept.  I was single and on a limited income.  Was it good timing for me?  It could have been, but I didn’t really get the whole MLM thing, so nothing ever came of it.

I spent the next couple decades trying this and that and earning nothing more than a few dollars, all the while knowing that there was something to this ~ but just not quite grasping it.

Forward to November 2004.  I had just started my own homemade soap business and it was going well.  I was doing shows and people were loving my soap.  Sales were good.  I was looking for candles to add to my line of products and had spoken to a couple of different people about it.  The timing was right for me that weekend when I did a show at the mall … next to someone in a Candlemaking MLM.  It took me 2 weeks to join, but the combination of my desire to have candles, my mind being open and the timing in the economy, that business took off for me and I quickly moved up and became one of the top earners in the company.  However, due to circumstances that my inexperience didn’t foresee, the company had problems and my success was short-lived.  But I really got the taste in my mouth, so once again I was on a quest to find the right company.

Over the next couple of years I joined a few more companies looking for the same success, but the timing just wasn’t right for me.  I had a growing family and couldn’t justify the time I needed to spend on my business.  I floundered back and forth with months of working and then not working.  By this time I also knew a little bit about what to look for in an MLM and I wasn’t finding everything I wanted in these companies.  I wanted something that would work for my team AND me.  Most companies I joined would work for me, but not beginners in MLM.  I kept looking.

That brings me to the present.  There are different reasons to join companies.  You might join just to get the products at a better price.  Or maybe you want to get a few customers and make some money that way.  Right now I am in a couple of companies for these reasons, but I do not actively build them as a business.

There are also different timings for joining companies.  I joined EIRO Research during my family phase and I believe they have an amazing compensation plan and I have made good money there.  I also adore their  daily antioxidant drink and their natural energy drink.  But ~ there is the time issue.  I am still an active member of EIRO, but in order to really build it, I would have to take too much time away from my family and I’m just not willing to do that right now.

This is where it gets interesting to me.  If you would have told me a year ago or even 6 months ago that I would be joining a Wireless Company in December of 2009, I would not have believed you.  I had zero interest.

But when my cousin approached me with the idea about a week ago, I was open.

Why?

Timing.

The economy is ripe for a business with cell phones.  A business where people don’t have to spend any extra money on their monthly requirements.

I needed people to talk to and in this business they are provided for me.

I need to spend time with my family, and with the team I joined, there is so much help that I can do that.

Timing is critical.  You never know when the timing is right for someone, so just because they said no to you in the past… or just because they are busy, or just because of any other excuse you have not to call them.  Don’t think that way!  It might be just what they need.  You never know if you don’t ask.

Excuses.  It just takes one and you’re done.

Comp Plan Comparisons

Just using the basic residual for a new person who has never done MLM before, here is a breakdown of three popular compensation plans.

In each situation, let’s say you have 7 active members on your team, one customer, and no one is recruiting for this month, so it is only residual. (bad practice, by the way, but just so you can see the real difference)

Company A ~ binary with a 100 cv requirement, 4 on one leg, 3 on the other

Sales $920, volume 800

EXPENSE $125 per month

INCOME $40 a month

Company B ~ forced matrix with a 5 product point monthly requirement , 3 on level 1, 4 on level 2

Sales $960

EXPENSE: $139 per month

INCOME $17.75 a month

Company C ~ Quinfinity Plan with a 120 cv monthly requirement

Sales $1140, Volume 980

EXPENSE $150 per month

INCOME $85 a month

Now let’s bump that up to 12 people on your team and see what happens.

Company A – binary, 6 on each leg

Sales $1495, volume 1300

Expense $125

Income $70

Company B – forced matrix, 3 on level 1, 9 on level 2

Sales $1560

Expense $280

Income $27.90

Company C – quinfinity, suggested 4 on level 1, 6 on level 2, 2 on level 3

Sales $1820, volume 1560

Expense $150

Income $95

And finally, let’s try this with 50 on your team

Company A – binary so there must be 25 on each leg (Royal 1K)

Sales $5865, volume 5100

Expense $250 (can not come from customers)

Income $260 plus up to $60 in matching checks

Profit is $10 plus up to $60 more

Company B – forced matrix, 3 on level 1, 9 on level 2, 27 on level 3, 11 on level 4 (Regional Marketing Representative)

Sales $6120

Expense $440 (can come from customers)

Income $372 (could be more if some fall on level 5)

No Profit unless you have more than that one customer

Company C -   quinfinity, suggested 4 on level 1, 8 on level 2, 16 on level 3, 22 on level 4 (Director)

Sales  $7140, volume 6120

Expense $150 (can not come from customers)

Income $349 plus matching checks of $42-84 and more

Profit is $199 plus up to $42 to 84 and more

Every MLM says their company is different, right? That’s true, they are. But WHAT MAKES THEM DIFFERENT is the key. Watch this video to see why EIRO Research is different.
